Dresden Horse Racing Industry Invited to Queen’s Park Rally
In a press release sent out across the province, the Ontario Harness Horse Association has invited its members and all those related to the horse racing industry, or concerned about recent government moves to end the Slots at Racetracks program, to attend a rally to be held at Queen’s Park in Toronto March 26. This invitation includes those concerned with the future of the Dresden Raceway:
The press release reads:
A second rally has been confirmed for Monday, March 26 at Queen’s Park (front lawn 110 Wellesley Street, Toronto) from 11:00am – 1:00pm and OHHA would like to extend an invitation to all individuals involved in, and concerned about, the racing industry in Ontario to attend.
This rally has been scheduled to emphasize once more the importance of the horse racing industry, the economic benefits it contributes to the Province of Ontario, and to provide information regarding the far-reaching adverse results should the Liberal government of Ontario persist in its plan to end the slots-at-racetracks program as currently in place with 17 racetracks in Ontario.
It is imperative we impress upon the MPPs of our province the magnitude of the trickle-down effects of this ill-conceived initiative which will be devastating and very widely felt.
Bus transportation is in the organizational stages and departure point and times and will be announced as soon as they become available.
