Dresden’s Wes Cunningham and Chatham’s Jason Missiaen have played key roles for the ECHL’s Greenville Road Warriors this season. This week, with a 5-1 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones, Greenville and the two Chatham-Kent hockey players clinched a Kelly Cup playoff berth.

After winning Goalie of the Week honours twice this season already, Missiaen, the tallest goalie in professional hockey standing 6’8″ was nominated again for goalie of the week honours. Missiaen backstopped the Greenville Road Warriors to two wins this week, including a 46-save performance in their playoff clinching game.

Although Wes Cunningham’s season totals have dropped this season to an ECHL career low, the defenseman has taken on a leadership role with the Road Warriors, donning an alternate captain’s “A” and has also been recalled multiple times to the American Hockey League.

Greenville plays the Gwinnett Gladiators twice this weekend before closing out the season with three games against the South Carolina Stingrays.

Greenville currently sits 2-points back of Gwinnett in the race for top spot in the South Division.
