Dresden’s TJ Brodie joined a long list of injured players on the Calgary Flames roster. After being a fixture in the Calgary Flames lineup since being recalled in November, Brodie did not make the trip with the Flames to St. Paul, Minnesota for the team’s Sunday afternoon game against the Minnesota Wild.

Brodie is currently listed as day-to-day with an “upper body injury.”

In the era of vague injury descriptions, an upper body injury can mean anything from a separated should or bruised ribs, to a concussion.

Brodie was injured in a 5-3 win Friday against the Winnipeg Jets. Brodie played just over 15-minutes in the win. Although the exact cause of the injury was not specified, Brodie was hit in the first by Jets forward Tanner Glass who was given a boarding penalty on the play.

In 54 games this season with the Calgary Flames, TJ Brodie has 2 goals and 12 assists for 14 points.

Last season while playing for the Abbotsford Heat, Brodie had his season ended prematurely by a high ankle sprain that plagued the rookie defenseman well into the offseason.
