Baseball Season Up to Bat

The Chatham-Kent baseball season is about to kick off with several local teams holding tryouts and workouts this month.

The Maple City Brewers, Chatham’s top team, is inviting any interested players to attend their spring workouts will run Friday’s at 6:30pm and Sunday’s at 2:00pm at Rotary Park in Chatham.

The Chatham Diamonds Minor travel baseball teams will also be holding tryouts in the coming weeks. Major Peewee Travel Baseball Tryouts, for any player who is born in 1999 or later, will take place at Kinsmen Park Sunday April 15th at 11am, Wednesday April 18th at 6pm, and Sunday April 22nd at 11am. The Midget Diamonds travel team will hold their tryouts at Rotary Park. The contact person is Pat McMahon. He can be reached at pat_mcmahon@woodbridgegroup.com with tryouts taking place on Wednesday April 11th at 6pm, Saturday April 14th at 1:30pm, and Wednesday April 18th at 6pm.

The Major Mosquito travel team will hold their tryouts at the following dates. Contact Ron Day at rday12@cogeco.ca or by calling 519-436-0127 for more information. Tryouts are Saturday, April 14: 11:00 am-1:00 pm, Sunday, April 15: 2:00 pm-4:00 pm, Tuesday, April 17: 6:00-7:30 pm, Saturday, April 21: 11:00 am-1:00 pm, Sunday, April, 22: 11:00 am-1:00 pm, and Tuesday, April 24: 6:00-7:30 pm.

The Minor Bantam Chatham Diamonds will hold their tryouts April 15th 6-8 pm, April 16th 6-8pm, and April 21st from 1-3pm.
