Chatham’s Melissa Bartlett Named 18U Provincial Volleyball Head Coach

The Ontario 18U Provincial Volleyball Team will be led by Chatham’s Melissa Bartlett this season.

Bartlett has been involved with both the Ontario 18U and 23U Provincial Team Programs over the past two years as an assistant coach.

“Quality coaching is critical to the success of Team Ontario and we are certainly fortunate to have such a great group of coaches committed to making the Provincial Team experience a positive one” said Jason Trepanier, Technical Director of Ontario Volleyball on the organizations website..

As an athlete, Bartlett has previous experience with the Junior National Team as well as Ontario’s Provincial Team and played a key role in the 2005 Canada Games team that brought home a gold medal.

In University, Bartlett, who also coaches volleyball at Chatham-Kent Secondary School, was also a First Team All-American as an outside attacker for Hillsdale College in Michigan. Her college career followed and all-star run at CKSS where she has one of her school’s top athletes and is now enshrined in the Jimmy Dean Wall of Fame at CKSS.

Bartlett is currently finishing a successful season as the head coach of the 16U Chatham Ballhawks.

Bartlett will lead Team Ontario to Manitoba this July 17-22 to compete in the National Team Challenge Cup.
