Ridgetown, Blenheim Again Stops on Jamieson Junior Golf Tour
Ridgetown Golf Course and Blenheim Golf Course will again be stops on the Jamieson Junior Golf Tour this summer when the tour rolls through Chatham-Kent.
Blenheim will host the season opening event on June 24, while Ridgetown will welcome the tour to town July 25.
The tour will once again feature 9 tournaments at great local golf courses, preceded by a qualifier at Fox Glen on May 27th. The top 4 boys and top 2 girls will also represent the Tour at the Ontario Tour Championship this year in Ottawa.
The Jamieson Junior Golf Tour has aided in the development of number of high level junior golfers. More than a dozen Jamieson Tour players have earned spots on NCAA, NAIA and OUA collegiate teams in the past two years alone.
To participate in the tour, you must be from Kent or Essex County, or a member of a golf course in one of these two regions.
This year the tour will also include a team competition. Teams will consist of the top three boys and top two girls representing each golf course in the region. The team with the best combined placing will take home the team award and bragging rights for their home golf course. Placings will be based on year end tour rankings. .
Registration is now automated and available “on line” at http://www.jamiesonjuniortour.ca The registration deadline for the tour qualifier is May 18th but players are encouraged to register early since spots are limited. The qualifier fee is $50. The fee for the 9 event season for those who qualify is only $100.
The Tour is very generously supported by Jamieson Vitamins, local courses hosting the events and a 100% volunteer staff.
