Tartans Shutout in Return to Rugby, Bobcats Roll – See Photos

The Wallaceburg District Secondary School Tartans had a steep learning curve in their first high school rugby game since 2002, facing the reigning Kent Champion Blenheim Bobcats.

Blenheim scored early and often picking up a 75-0 victory to improve to 1-1 this season.

Krystal Warnock and Tegan Williams scored four tries each for the Blenheim Bobcats, while Breanne Nicholas had two, and Cassidy Cameron, Robyn Fraser, and Danielle Naclerio each added one.

Nicholas also successfully kicked five converts in the game.

In other rugby action, the UCC Lancers defeated Belle River 71-7 with tries going to Justine Van Herk (two), Summer Eastcott (two), Christine Lowther, Ally Manninger, Alicia Dalanyi, Natasha Wood, Sheridan Rogers, and Jessica Proctor. Gabby Desbiens kicked five converts, while Julia Moretto kicked three and added a penalty kick.
