Devils Keep Rolling With Win in Welland

Rob Pollock and Jordan VanDamme had four goals each to help the Wallaceburg Red Devils continue rolling as they defeated the Welland Warlords 11-9 on the road Saturday. With the win, Wallaceburg improves to 4-1 on the season and remains in first in the Far West Division.

Welland got out of the gate quickly as Wallaceburg found their road legs, getting out to a 3-1 lead. Wallaceburg however, would storm back late in the first period with two goals from VanDamme and singles from Pollock and Clint Lamarsh.

In the second period, Pollock scored a hat trick, while Lamarsh added another to give the Red Devils an 8-7 lead heading into the final frame.

Jordan VanDamme poured in two goals in the third, while Jordan Durston got his first of the game to power the Red Devils to the 11-9 win.

Pollock finished with 6-points (4 goals, 2 assists) in the game, while VanDamme (4 goals, 1 assist), Lamarsh (2 goals, 3 assists), and Durston (1 goal, 4 assists) each had 5-points.

Ryan Schuetzkowski was solid in net for the Red Devils, making 48-saves in the game, including 17 in the third period.

Wallaceburg now travels to face the Sarnia Pacers for the third time this season Monday at Clearwater Arena in Sarnia. Wallaceburg has 2 wins against Sarnia this season.
