Local Horses Clean Up At Dresden Raceway
Local horses were not camera shy Sunday at Dresden Raceway as seven local horses visited the winner’s circle.
Rainbow Gold started things off in the first race for owner/driver Dennis Duford of Dresden as the 5-year-old Thunder Road gelding rallied from two lengths back to hit the wire first in 2:00 flat.
Rainbow Gold is trained by Ashley Duford.
Ridgetown’s Laird O’Brien is the owner/trainer of Medley Mindale who won the second race. The 4-year-old Camluck mare made a bold three wide move past three quarters and won by five lengths in a time of 2:01.1 for driver Brad Moore.
New York On Broadway was the winner of the fourth race for co-owner Barbara List of Chatham. Darcy List of Mossley is the co-owenr and trainer. Driver Robert Sparling Jr. jumped right to the lead with the three-year-old Rambaran filly and went wire to wire in 2:01.4.
Bella Bambina was the winner of the sixth race for owner/trainer Randy Zhok of Dover Centre. Driver Marc St Louis Jr. guided the eight-year-old Artiscape mare around the half mile oval in 1:59.3.
Dresden’s Rob Ellis is the owner of La Semana Hanover who took top prize in the eighth race. The five-year-old Cams Card Shark mare won in 2:00.1 with St Louis at the controls. Dresden’s Tim McFadden is the trainer of La Semana Hanover.
Ah Striking Stride was the winner of the ninth race for owner/trainer Kathy Jewell of Dresden. The seven-year-old trotting gelding was driven to the win by Dave Dowling in 2:02 flat.
Sparling Jr. drove three winners on the day while St Louis, Dowling and Kevin Wallis each had two winners.
