Without top scorers Jordan Durston and Jordan VanDamme, the Wallaceburg Red Devils struggled to keep pace with the offense of the Niagara Thunderhawks Sunday at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena. Niagara more than doubled the output of the Red Devils winning 17-8.

Clint Lamarsh scored two goals to open the game, putting the Wallaceburg Red Devils out front, before Niagara scored four of the game’s next five goals. Dillon Lapointe had the other Wallaceburg goal in the first period.

The second period of the game was all Niagara as they scored seven goals, to Wallaceburg’s one. Mike Myers had the only second period goal for the Red Devils. Myers finished as the game’s first star, despite being on the losing end of the game, scoring twice and adding three assists for five points.

In the third period, Wallaceburg showed some fight with goals from Myers, Rob Pollock, Lamarsh, and Brendan Shepley. Lamarsh also finished the game with five points including a hat trick.

London will visit Wallaceburg this Wednesday to take on the Red Devils at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena. Game time is 8:00pm.
