Te Sligte Tops Division in Toronto Marathon

The Goodlife Toronto Marathon and Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathons were held this weekend with local athletes competing in both.

Blenheim’s Annie Te Sligte won her division, the women’s 60-64 group, running the marathon in a time of 4:21

Also in Toronto, Chatham’s Steve Moore ran the fastest race of all Chatham-Kent participants finishing the marathon 3:23:22, good for 23rd in the men’s 40-44 division, and 171st out of 1084 men overall.

Kim Wood was the fastest local female runner, completing the marathon in 3:37:52. Her time put her 15th in the women’s 35-39 division and 80th out of 665 women overall. Chatham’s Jeni Powell also had a strong race completing the marathon in 3:55:12, which put her 8th in the women’s 50-54 division.

In Cincinnati, Chatham’s Chris Tuckwell was the top local finisher, completing the race in 4:28:29.
