Wallaceburg Red Devils Skid Continues
After winning five of their first six games, the Wallaceburg Red Devils have lost five of their last six.
Friday night, the team’s skid continued against division rivals, the Windsor Clippers.
Wallaceburg got out to a 2-0 lead early on goals by Reid Miller and Jordan VanDamme and finished with first period tied 3-3, with Drake Brown scoring the other Red Devils goal.
The second period started with Wallaceburg scoring four unanswered goals with two coming from VanDamme, and Miller and Rob Pollock scoring the others. With the Red Devils up 7-3, the wheels started falling off.
Windsor would then score seven goals before the Wallaceburg Red Devils would find their way back onto the scoresheet. Down 10-7 in the third, Wallaceburg made it 10-9 with goal again from Miller and VanDamme, but Windsor would put a dagger in the Red Devils comeback with a little over five minutes left on the clock to make it 11-9. Neither team would score again.
VanDamme finished with six points for Wallaceburg in the loss. The Red Devils will try to get back on track Sunday as they welcome Brampton to town for a 3:00pm game.
