Balkwill Named Leo Dufort Student-Athlete of the Month

Chatham’s Larry Balkwill has been selected as the Leo Dufort Student-Athlete of the Month for May for the NCAA’s Siena Saints.

Balkwill recently completed his season with Siena and will be playing summer baseball with the Haymarket Senators.

Balkwill was also named to the MAAC All-Academic team earlier this month.

With the Siena Saints this season, Balkwill hit .281 and led the Saints in home runs (6), RBIs (29), doubles (10), on base percentage (.381), and slugging percentage (.449)

The Leo Dufort award is handed out monthly at Siena to an athlete that exemplifies both academic and athletic achievement.
