Lancers Struggle at Opening Day of OFSAA Soccer

The Ursuline College Lancers struggled in their first day of competition at the OFSAA soccer championships.

The UCC Senior Girls team was in Oakville, but the inexperienced team failed to register a point in Thursday’s pool play standings. On the opening day, the Lancers lost 2-0 to Holy Trinity, and 5-1 at the hands of Denis Morris.

The girls will play Bishop Allen Friday, but will likely be eliminated following pool play.

In Brantford, the UCC Senior Boys also sit on the bottom of their pool after one day, losing and tying a game.

UCC tied St. Thomas More 1-1 before Our Lady Mount Carmel shut out the Lancers 3-0. The Boys finish their pool play Friday against John Paul II, and will need a win to have a shot at advancing.
