Red Devils Hoping For “Sea of Red” To Open Playoffs
The Wallaceburg Red Devils open the 2012 OLA Junior B playoff season this Saturday at home and are looking for a “sea of red” to support the team.
Fans are asked to wear red for the 8pm game in which the Wallaceburg Red Devils will face the Spartans (St. Catherines).
Wallaceburg opened the season against the Spartans with a 12-11 loss, but are entering the postseason on a three game winning streak.
Wallaceburg finished the regular season with a 13-7 record, good for second in the Far West Division behind London. The Spartans finished with an identical 13-7 record, and second place standing in the South West Division behind only Six Nations, the team that swept Wallaceburg from the playoffs last season.
Rob Pollock finished the season atop Wallaceburg’s scoring with an incredible 103 points in 19 games, good for 6th overall in the league. He was followed by Clint Lamarsh, who finished 13th in league scoring with 85 points, including a team high 53 goals.
The Spartans relied on a balanced attack this season led by Mark Vradenburg who compiled 78 points in 20 games.
