Herreweyers Named Rookie of the Year

Wallaceburg Lacrosse product Zach Herreweyers has been named the Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior ‘A’ rookie of the year.

Playing for the Peterborough Lakers, Herreweyers suited up for 16 of 20 regular season games scoring 38 goals and adding 31 assists for 69 points. The point total for the former Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse star put him 15th overall in league scoring, and was tops amongst Peterborough players.

Herreweyers represented Canada as a member of the U-19 Field Lacrosse team at the U19 World Championships in Finland earlier in July.

He will attend Loyola University this fall to play field lacrosse for their men’s program.
