Josh Myers Heading to Canadian Fishing Open

Chatham-Kent’s Josh Myers is heading to the Canadian Open Fishing Championships in Kingston. He will make the trip this weekend in preparation for the event which begins next week.

Myers is a former Canadian Open Champion and runner up, and also finished 7th in the FLW Tour in the past.

The event features the nation’s top 80 fishermen who will compete for the top prize of $40,000 from July 19 through the 21st. The bass fishing event

When asked about his trip to Kingston, Myers explained what he hopes to accomplish this week,

“I leave on Thursday night, I have 6 days of practice, scouting out Lake Ontario,” said Myers.

“I’m going to spend from sun up to sun down on the water and hope to find the right spot, the right school of fish, and hope to take a run at it.”
