Kim Wood Sets New St. Clair River Run Record

Chatham’s Kim Wood set a new record at this past weekend’s St. Clair River Run. Wood crossed the finish line as the fastest female in the three year history of the St. Clair River Run with a 5K time of 19:32.

Wayne Newcombe of Blenheim was the day’s second fastest 5K runner behind Strathroy’s Matthew Sheeler who set an overall St. Clair record. Newcombe finished the race in only 17:50, which was tops in his age division of men’s 30-39.

Crossing just behind Newcombe was Chatham’s Matt Wood who completed the course in 18:17.

Dresden’s Pam Gall was the fastest runner in her division (F 40-49) finishing in a time of 22:40, which was also good for 4th amongst female runners overall. Chatham’s Olivia Hunter, running in the F 1-12 division was also tops in her age group with a time of 24:30.

In the 10K race, Wallaceburg’s Taylor McArthur finished 2nd overall and 1st in his age group (M 13-19) completing the race in a time of 36:03. Dawn Burm, also of Wallaceburg, topped her division (F 40-49) with a time of 44:30.
