Rabideau Steps Into Assistant GM Position With Brampton
Wallaceburg’s Matt Rabideau has been named the new Assistant General Manager of the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League.
Rabideau had been serving as the Manager of Hockey and Education Services for the OHL and also served as the Director of Operations for Team Ontario’s Canada Winter Games entry a year ago.
Locally, Rabideau worked with the Wallaceburg Lakers as an assistant coach and manager, before moving up to the Junior B ranks and taking on a scouting role with the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit.
Currently, Stan Butler is serving as the head coach and general manager of the Brampton Battalion, meaning Rabideau will work directly with the long term coach.
Last season the Brampton Battalion finished fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 36-22-3-7 record, good for 82 points.
In the playoffs, Brampton swept the Sudbury Wolves 4-0 before being swept by the Niagara Ice Dogs.
