Rebels Even Series With Late Comeback

In front of a large and loud Wallaceburg crowd, the home team watched a four goal lead disintegrate late in the third period, as they fell 12-11 to the Six Nations Rebels. The win evens their OLA Semi-Final series 1-1.

The Wallaceburg Red Devils got off to a strong start in the game, scoring the first four goals. First period scorers were Rob Pollock with two, Jordan Durston, and Reid Miller.

Clint Lamarsh scored twice in the second period as Wallaceburg extended their lead to 8-5 after two periods. Pollock and Miller also scored for the Red Devils in the frame.

As the third period got underway, things still looked good for Wallaceburg, as Lamarsh answered an early Six Nations goal with two more. The Six Nations Rebels would then show why they were the top ranked team heading into the playoffs. The Rebels chipped away at Wallaceburg’s lead scoring six unanswered goals. Jordan Durston was awarded a penalty shot late in the game, which he scored, but it was too little too late as Six Nations held on to defeat Wallaceburg.

Durston finished the game with 8 points, while Pollock and Lamarsh each had 6 point efforts in the loss.

Game three of the series is this Thursday at 8:00pm, when the Wallaceburg Red Devils will head back to the road against Six Nations.
