Red Devils Need Double Overtime in Game Two
After needing a late game rally on Friday, the Wallaceburg Red Devils needed double overtime to down the London Blue Devils in game two. Rob Pollock scored the game winner for the Red Devils as they edged London 13-12 to take a 2-0 series lead.
Wallaceburg’s big names played their role well in the win, as Jordan Durston and Clint Lamarsh scored in the first period to start things off for Wallaceburg. London however, would fight back to take a 3-2 lead heading into the second.
After London scored again, Rob Pollock and Jordan VanDamme each notched goals for Wallaceburg. Before the second period was out, London would score twice more, while Wallaceburg would reply with goals from Durston, Pollock, and Reid Miller.
Pollock, Miller, and Marcus Lagerstrom scored to open the third period. With the game looking like it was Wallaceburg’s, the London Blue Devils started to heat up scoring five unanswered to take a one goal lead with less than a minute and a half on the clock. Desperate for a goal, Clint Lamarsh knotted things up scoring the tying goal with only 17-second remaining in the game.
In overtime, Rob Pollock scored the winner, helping the Red Devils to the win and pushing them to a 2-0 series lead.
Wallaceburg will have the chance to close out the series Friday in London.
