Blackbird Defends Provincial Title

Jewelian Blackbird of Cobra’s Taekwondo Training Centre competed in Kingston Ontario Saturday July 28th at 2013 Provinical Black Belt Team Trials Game 1, successfully defending her provincial title.

Blackbird was seeded number 1 in her division after capturing her first provinical title at last years games. She played in the Jr. B (1999-2000) light middle weight division.

After a strong performance in her first match winning 3-2, heading into the finals, the other player that made it to the finals refused to play against Blackbird, which gave her the win in the gold medal match by forfeit.

Alyssa Blackbird sat this game out as she is recovering from an injury. She has started light training again and hopes to be fully recovered for game 2. Jewelian will also defend her title again at game 2 being held August 24-26 in Oakville Ontario.
