Chatham Born Ayim, Canada Ousted From Olympics
After finishing fourth in their pool with a 2-3 record, Canada matched up with the powerful USA women’s team and lost 91-48.
Ayim, who plays for Istanbul Universitesi SK, was held pointless in the loss, but had one defensive rebound. The former Pepperdine University grad, typically saw less than 10 minutes of court time during the Olympic Games.
Ayim scored 4 points in the tournament opener, a 58-53 loss to Russia, and added 2 points in the round robin closer, against Australia.
Ayim played a strong defensive tournament picking up key rebounds in each of her performances.
Professionally, Ayim also suited up for the Tulsa Shock of the WNBA.
