Rondeau native, and former Blenheim Golden Eagles gymnast Dominique Pegg finished the 2012 London Summer Olympics amongst Canada’s best all-time gymnastics Olympians.

Pegg finished 17th overall in the All-Around Individual final. In Canada’s Olympic history, not including boycotted Olympic Games, only three female Olympians have ever finished higher than 17th in gymnastics, with the highest being a 15th place finish in 2000.

Pegg finished with a total score of 55.565.

In her floor routine, Pegg jumped the competition to land in 10th place overall, her highest individual placing with a score of 14.033. Pegg finished 17th in the vault (14.566), and 19th in both the uneven bars and on the beam.

Following her performance, Pegg took to Twitter to thank her fans and supporters saying, “Today was soo amazing! Had so much fun out there! So greatful to have u all behind me!”

Earlier in the week, Pegg helped Team Canada to their highest ever team finish, taking 5th place in the team final.

After moving and leaving the Blenheim Golden Eagles in 2003, Pegg began competing with Bluewater Gymnastics in Sarnia, where she now resides.
