Seward Wins Second Jamieson Tournament

Chatham’s Paul Seward became the first repeat winner on the Jamieson Junior Golf Tour this summer after the 16-year-old won the Beach Grove stop, the tours 7th tournament of the season Monday.

Seward, a member at Ridgetown Golf and Curling Club, shot a 2 under par 70 to take the victory at Beach Grove Golf and Country Club.

Seward bogied holes 16 and 17 before bouncing back with an eagle 3, on the par 5 18th hole. His final hole eagle proved to be the difference as Seward won by 2 strokes.

The win was Seward’s second on the Jamieson Junior Golf Tour this summer as he had previously won at Sutton Creek.

Tuesday at Ambassador Golf Club, Seward played another strong round tying for 7th after shooting a 3 over par 74. Ridgetown’s Crawford McKinlay, who won earlier this season at his home Ridgetown Golf and Curling Club also shot a 74, good for a tie for 7th with Seward,.
