Wallaceburg Lakers Getting Ready to Roll
The Wallaceburg Jr. “C” Lakers camp was a huge success for the Lakers Organization, held this past weekend. The camp, which took to the ice on Saturday at the RBC Centre in Sarnia, welcomed 43 rookies and 15 veterans.
“I was very happy with the turnout we had at the camp,” said new Wallaceburg Lakers head coach and general manager Paul Grealis. “The players were very competitive and showed a lot of interest in making the team. We had a lot of young talent trying out and it was also was gratifying to see the vets out competing for a spot on the Laker team.”
After a dismal season last year which saw the Lakers miss the playoffs with a 9-29-2 record, Grealis is looking for change right away, with the camp sending a clear message to the team,
“No ones job is guaranteed,” said Grealis. “I want things to change now”
The Wallaceburg Lakers will play their first exhibition game on August 30 against the Mooretown Flags.
