Dresden’s Chris “The Menace” Clements underwent surgery Wednesday to repair several injuries he suffered during his MMA career, which recently took him to the sport’s highest level in the UFC.

Via his Twitter account Tuesday evening, Clements had this to say, “12 hours before I go under the knife. Not looking forward to it, but looking forward to 6 months from now when for the first time in over a year I will be able to train properly.”

Clements also stated he has two torn rotator cuffs, a torn shoulder labrum, torn biceps tendon, and arthritis in his right shoulder.

Clements won his UFC debut defeating Keith Wisniewski by a split decision at UFC 145, before losing his next bout to Matthew Riddle by submission.

The 36-year-old fighter has an 11-5 professional record. He signed a 5-fight UFC contract earlier this year, but will now miss significant time as he recovers from surgery and prepares for his next shot at a UFC bout.
