Lakers Rally For First Win
The Wallaceburg Lakers rallied together to win their first game 5-4 over the Kingsville Comets at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena Wednesday.
Lakers forward Mike Myers netted the first goal for Wallaceburg assisted by Justin Whitson and Jeff Morey to end the first period 2-1 Kingsville.
In the second period,Jake Carter scored the Lakers second goal of the game unassisted, followed by a power play goal from Jeff Nolfo assisted by Kyle Jacobson to tie the game 3-3 at the end of the second.
The Lakers kept the momentum going with a fourth goal from Sam Jasmin assisted by Kody Ryan and Jake Carter and the second goal of the game from Jake Carter assisted by Sam Jasmin and Kody Ryan to win the game 5-4.
Devin Cove played strong in net stopping twenty eight of thirty two shots on net.
“It was nice to get our first win at home. The team has to learn discipline and we need scoring from more then one line,” said Head Coach/GM Paul Grealis.
The Laker’s next game September 22 vs Alvinston in Watford. Puck drops at 8:00 pm
