New Crossover Format Features Local Teams

The Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League will be involved in a new crossover format that will see three GLJCL teams, including the Dresden Kings and Blenheim Blades playing Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League teams this season.

THe SOJHL, which was upgraded from Junior D to Junior C this season, will begin playing home and home series’ with Great Lakes teams. Next year, every Great Lakes team will play a home and home with a SOJHL team.

In this year’s games, the Dresden Kings will play the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs, the Blenheim Blades will face the Port Stanley Sailors, and the Alvinston Flyers will play the North Middlesex Stars.

To open the crossover series’, Blenheim will host the Port Stanley Sailors on Sunday, September 23 at 7:15pm. The Blades will then travel to Port Stanley on Friday, November 2 for a 7:30pm game.

Mt. Brydges will travel to Dresden October 19 (7:30pm), before Dresden returns to Mt. Brydges November 24 (7:30pm).

Alvinston will play a home and home with North Middlesex on November 16 and November 17.
