Sharks Lower The Flags in Junior C Action

The Wheatley Sharks lowered the Mooretown Flags Monday night at home with an offensive outburst resulting in a 7-4 win.

Kurtis Ouellete and Jon Woelk scored back-to-back powerplay goals to open the scoring in the second period. Mooretown would answer back scoring three goals before Brett Bowman tied it up. Mooretown would score the go ahead goal before the second period was out, sending them to the third with a 4-3 lead.

The third period however, would be all Wheatley. Kevin Sawatzky started the scoring to again tied the game, before Lucas Raffoul scored the game winning goal.

Wheatley wasn’t done there however, as Corbin Haggerman scored a powerplay goal, and Mike Reid continued the Sharks’ special teams display by closing out the game with a shorthanded marker.

Wheatley faces Essex Tuesday night.
