Watching Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham kick this season, you wouldn’t know he sat at the bottom of the NFL last season in kicking percentage.

After going perfect in the preseason, Suisham has continued to make it look easy as the regular season got underway this season.

Week 1 in a 31-19 loss against Denver, Suisham did his part going 2-for-2. Suisham opened the scoring with a 21-yard field goal in the second quarter, followed by a 35-yarder in the third quarter.

Sunday facing another tough opponent, the New York Jets, Suisham showed he has the ability to kick from beyond 40-yards out, a distance he has historically struggled with. In particular, Suisham has struggled at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, where kicking is known to be a challenge.

During the first quarter of Sunday’s game, Suisham successfully hit a 45-yard field goal, and quickly opened the second quarter with another 45-yard kick.

Suisham also converted three extra points in the 27-10 Pittsburgh Steelers win.

Pittsburgh and Shaun Suisham will face the Oakland Raiders Sunday, September 23 in Week 3 of the NFL season. Game time is 4:25pm in Oakland.
