Tartans Continue to Dominate, Pataki Scores 5
When the Wallaceburg Tartans finished the season perfect last year, winning Kent and SWOSSAA, a early season slump wouldn’t have been a surprise. The WDSS Senior Football team however, has picked up exactly where they left off opening the season 2-0, including a 40-22 win over the JMSS Panthers Friday.
After asserting himself as the league’s top offensive threat as a grade 11 last season, Wallaceburg’s Jonah Pataki exploded back onto the field this year, scoring five touchdowns in Friday’s win.
Pataki ran for an incredible 423-yards in the game including 95, 70, 60, 53, and 8 yard touchdown runs.
Jordan Durston had the other Wallaceburg Tartans touchdown.
John McGregor’s Alex Goldoni ran for one touchdown and threw two, including a 28-yard pass to Dakota Stewart and a 25-yard toss to Dwan Mailloux.
Wallaceburg will face the CKSS Golden Hawks next Saturday at CKSS, while John McGregor will host Blenheim on Friday.
