Athletes Fueling Up in Chatham-Kent

It takes hard work, dedication, and motivation for athletes to outperform their competition. Recently, more athletes in Chatham-Kent have been finding these tools, and achieving their goals, with the help of Athletes’ Fuel Strength and Conditioning.

Founded by Chatham resident Colin Roeszler, Athletes’ Fuel, has quickly gained accolades from notable local athletes including Ryan Jones, Kyle Hope, and Jamie Schaafsma, among others.

Offering personal training services and education including strength and conditioning, injury reduction, functional movement, nutritional science, and recovery protocol, Roeszler believes his company is helping local athletes achieve new heights.

“An athlete that comes to us truly learns the proper training and nutrition habits that are essential in improving performance in sport and athletic development,” says Roeszler.

Roeszler, who runs Athletes’ Fuel Strength and Conditioning, says their workouts are action packed, and maximize results, while reducing the risk for injury for the athletes,

“We develop workouts that are hard and effective. We train so many athletic qualities in a relatively short period of time. I would say that is what separates us from anyone else. The amount of work we get done in the allotted time is quite significant. The way our program flows and the organized execution of it, allows us to train a number of athletes at once without anyone ever standing around with nothing to do,” explained Roeszler. “We know what makes an athletes develop superiorly, and we continuously use those methods”

Roeszler also believes too much emphasis is put on quantity of exercise in training at other locations, rather than properly and safely executing and teaching movements, that improve strength and performance.

“We place more importance on injury reduction of non-contact related injuries during sport, and injury prevention in the training process, more than we do improving performance. No one gets better on the rehab training table being injured, and that is certainly what we believe. ”

Athletes’ Fuel Strength and Conditioning currently works with professional, junior, university, and high school levels athletes competing in a variety of sports including hockey, football, and volleyball. According to Roeszler, he believes the talent pool of athletes in Chatham-Kent is incredible, and believes even more local athletes can move on to the next level with proper training.

“Chatham-Kent truly is truly an athletic hot bed,” says Roeszler. “If you think about the relatively small population we reside in, we have so many athletes that play professionally, many that are on the cusp of playing professionally, and local athletic development that really sets the standard.”

With the number of local athletes approaching the elite levels continuing to increase, Roeszler believes training with Athletes’ Fuel can give these young competitors the edge, and put them on a path to success, ” We build athletes, and we provide them with the fuel necessary to dominate in their respective sport.”
