Balanced Attack Helps CCHS Edge Ridgetown

It took a full team effort for the Chatham Christian Flames to edge the Ridgetown Royals in Senior Girls A basketball Tuesday night.

Amy Bultje was the top scorer for CCHS, but several players contributed to the Flames’ 35-34 win. Laura Hoekstra and Sandy Hakiza both scored 7 points for Chatham Christian, while Samantha Deboer had 6 points.

Ridgetown’s Hope Long was the games top scorer, picking up 14-points in the losing effort.

Both teams now sit with an identical 1-1 record in the Senior Girls A league. Chatham Christian will face Lambton-Kent on October 11, while Ridgetown plays Pain Court this Thursday, October 4.

In the Junior Girls loop, the Lambton-Kent Cardinals defeated the Tilbury Titans 23-14.

Hannah Badder had a game high 6-points for Dresden (LKCS), followed by a 4 point effort from Megan Mortier. Emilee Marentette and Morgon Monroe each had 4 points for Tilbury.
