Windsor Lancers Defeat Eagles in Chatham
In front of a packed crowd at the St. Clair Health Plex, the University of Windsor Lancers handed the Ashland University Eagles a loss at the CIS/NCAA Chatham Classic.
Windsor defeated the NCAA Division II school from Ohio, 76-62.
In previous years, the St. Clair Health Plex has hosted OCAA volleyball and basketball games, but this was the first of its type in Chatham.
This season, the Lancers feature a Chatham connection, as Chatham product Greg Allin, who also played basketball for the Lancers, will serve as an assistant coach with the team. Allin won an OUA title with the Lancers as a player in 2007.
Windsor will start their regular season November 9 against Carelton University in Windsor.
