Local Tennis Players Narrowly Miss OFSAA

The best results of Kent County’s tennis players participated at SWOSSAA in Windsor Wednesday, with three local players grabbing third place finishes. The top two finishers advance to OFSAA in the spring.

Alexander Goldoni of JMSS was third in boys’ singles losing 8-6 in his final match.

Laura Polowick, also of JMSS, placed third in girls’ singles losing her second place match 8-5, and the boys’ doubles team (JMSS) of Brady McIntyre and Tanner Goldsmith were also third.

The girls’ doubles team of Kara Hueniken and Deanne Lo, of Chatham-Kent Secondary School placed fourth.

Sarnia St. Christophers dominated the day with victories in BS, GS, BD and GD. Belle River S.S. won the other event, MXD.
