Matchups Set For Senior Football Semis

Friday, the Senior Football playoffs will get underway with a pair of games in the KCSSAA semi-finals.

At 3:45pm, the first place Wallaceburg Tartans will host the fourth place Blenheim Bobcats. Wallaceburg finished the season undefeated, and has won their last 17 consecutive games of senior football spanning to last season.

In their two meetings this season, Wallaceburg shut out Blenheim 36-0, and defeated them 34-7. Blenheim will need to stop Jonah Pataki who scored a total of 6 touchdowns against their defence this season.

Chatham-Kent Secondary School will then host the UCC Lancers at 7pm, under the lights at CKSS. CKSS’ only losses this season came at the hands of Wallaceburg. In their two games this season, CKSS took home a pair of narrow victories, defeating the Lancers 25-21, and 28-23. The two teams haven’t met since September 18.

Blayne Bechard will be a force for CKSS. In their second meeting this season, Bechard scored 3 touchdowns against the Lancers.

The winner of each game will compete for the KCSSAA Senior Boys Football title.
