Back-to-Back Titles For Tartans
The Wallaceburg Tartans proved they are the most dominant ‘AA’ Football school in Southwestern Ontario, as they defended their SWOSSAA title, completing back-to-back undefeated seasons.
Saturday, hosting Leamington’s Cardinal Carter, the Tartans fought their way to a 28-7 victory in front of a loud and large home crowd.
After the Cardinal Carter Cougars struck first, Wallaceburg took over in their normal dominant fashion, with Dan Fox grabbing the first touchdown for Wallaceburg, pulling in a pass from WDSS quarterback Brayden Fischer.
On the very next drive, Jonah Pataki continued his strong offensive season, in which he was named the league’s offensive MVP, scoring on a three yard run.
In the second half, both Fischer and Pataki ran in touchdowns to put the game out of reach.
There is a chance the Tartans will be invited to participate in the coveted Western Bowl this coming week.
