Chatham Wins Interlock Game Against Listowel

Eric Palazzolo tallied one point to lead the Chatham Maroons to a 4-1 victory over the Listowel Cyclones.

Listowel was unable to stop Chatham from sending pucks towards the net, and the Maroons eventually piled up 40 shots on goal.

Trevor Richardson also scored for Chatham. In addition, Chatham received assists from Jake Flegel, Steven Szekesy, Brayden Hopkins, Evan Mascaro, Ian Faubert, Sean Myers, and Brennan Feasey, who each chipped in one.

The Cyclones’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Chatham power plays. Listowel could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Cyclones average 4.0 goals per game. Listowel was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 46 penalty minutes.

The Cyclones were led by Jacob Robitaille, who scored the team’s only goal. Robitaille scored 12:32 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Chatham. Tanner Mighton picked up the assist.

Darien Ekblad made 17 saves for Chatham on 18 shots. The Maroons incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Drew Reinhardt rejected 36 shots on goal for Listowel. The Cyclones registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
