The Dresden Kings and Wallaceburg Lakers made a deal early this week involving two veteran players from the teams.

The Dresden Kings shipped Brennan Rainey down Highway 78 to the Wallaceburg Lakers in exchange for Mike Myers.

Rainey, who led the Dresden Kings in scoring last season (17 goals and 28 assists in 39 games), hasn’t suited up for the Kings since November 9. The veteran scorer has 4 goals and 8 assists through 16 games this season. Rainey is originally from Ridgetown.

Mike Myers, who is a Wallaceburg Minor Hockey product, is in his second full season of Junior hockey, has also missed his team’s past three games.

Myers has one goal and three assists in 18 games this season.

Wallaceburg hosts Kingsville Wednesday night and will travel to Alvinston Friday. Dresden hosts Belle River in back to back games this Friday and next Wednesday.
