CHATHAM, November 5th – The Chatham Maroons today announced they have raised over $1,700 to help fund Breast Cancer research.

On October 28th, 2012, the Maroons played their annual “Help Fight Breast Cancer” hockey game against the St. Mary’s Lincolns. The team played in “Pink” jerseys which were intended to honour those who have fought and beat breast cancer. The Breast Buddies, a local dragon boat team made up of breast cancer survivors from the Chatham Kent area were honoured before the game.

The jerseys worn during the game were donated by Chatham Pro Shop of Chatham, Ontario. Mike’s Signs and Graphics donated a team sign board which was autographed by the players, and auctioned off as well.
During the game, the jerseys were auctioned off to the fan who submitted the highest silent bid. This year, the Maroons were able to raise $1,708 to help fight the battle against cancer. The proceeds will be split evenly between the Breast Buddies and the Canadian Cancer Society.
