Sharks Snap Up Halloween Win
Following a goaltending change less than 7 minutes into the first, already down 3-0, Wheatley fought back for a well deserved 6-5 victory.
In the opening period, Scott Lubbers, Justin Whitson, and Sam Jasmin scored for the Wallaceburg Lakers, chasing Wheatley goalie Robbie Vrabel from the net after only 6 shots on goal.
To open the second period, Wheatley got back into the game scoring twice on the powerplay, less than a minute apart. Former Blenheim Blades forward Brendon Anger started things off for Wheatley, followed by Brian Johnson only 49 seconds later.
Jon Woelk and Zach Wilson then put Wheatley ahead before the midway mark of the second. Following an earlier fight in the period, the rough stuff then broke out, leading to powerplay goals from Justin Whitson and Kyle Jacobson for Wallaceburg, and Mike Reid for Wheatley, sending the game to the third period tied 5-5.\
In the third, Kyle Quick struck on yet another powerplay to lift the Wheatley Sharks to a 6-5 win.
The keeps Wallaceburg fourth in the North Division, only 1 point ahead of last place Mooretown. Wheatley sits third in the South Division.
