Wallaceburg Tartans Repeat as Kent Champions
For the second straight season, the Wallaceburg District Secondary School Tartans have captured the Kent Senior Football championship.
Today in Wallaceburg, in what turned out to be a chippy game against the UCC Lancers, Wallaceburg dominated the game, shutting out UCC 30-0.
As he was all season for Wallaceburg, Jonah Pataki was a catalyst for the Tartans’ offence, scoring two touchdowns in the win.
Lucas Allear and Jordan Durston had the other touchdowns for Wallaceburg in the win. With the outcome already determined, the referees called with game with less than 5 minutes to go on the clock due to unsportsmanlike play.
Wallaceburg will now move on to face the LSSAA A-AA representative next week.
The Tartans finished the season undefeated, building on their undefeated season last year, in which they won a SWOSSAA championship defeating Kennedy of Windsor in the final.
