The Pittsburgh Steelers, including Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham saw their playoff hopes crushed Sunday night in devastating fashion, as the Steelers lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 13-10.

After a sparkling season, Suisham also had one of his roughest outings of the year, missing a 24-yard field goal attempt in the second quarter, and a 53-yard attempt with less than two minutes to play. The second miss put the ball back into Cincinnati hands. After a reception, Cincinnati kicked a successful 43-yard attempt with 4-seconds left to play for the win.

Suisham did kick a 40-yard field goal in the third quarter to tie the game 10-10. Pittsburgh’s offence however, sputtered the entire game and was unable to put points on the board.

The loss, Pittsburgh’s third in a row, allowed Cincinnati to clinch a playoff spot emerging from the AFC South along with Houston, while Pittsburgh will miss the postseason as they currently sit with a 7-8 record. In their last 5 games, Pittsburgh is a dismal 1-4.

The Steelers will host Cleveland on December 30, for what will be their last game of the season.
