Durston Joins Blades For Playoff Run
Durston, a forward converted to a defenseman last season in Wallacburg, took home the Lakers’ top honour as Most Valuable Player at their annual awards banquet last spring.
Durston was 4th on the Wallaceburg Lakers in scoring with 10 goals and 26 assists, for 36 points in 33 games played last season, and was the team’s top scoring defenseman.
“I’m now officially a Blenhiem Blade,” Durston stated via Facebook after signing with Blenheim, “looking forward to the playoff run.”
In three games with Wallaceburg this season, Durston collected a goal and 3 assists.
Durston is expected to make his Great Lakes Junior C debut as a member of the Blenheim Blades this Sunday as Blenheim hosts the Dresden Kings.
