Chatham Maroons assistant captain Jake Flegal will miss the bulk of the remainder of the GOJHL season after receiving a 13 game suspension from the league.

The suspension occured following a fight against St. Thomas January 3, in which Flegal was assigned an instigator and aggressor misconduct.

Flegal is a repeat offender, missing the first two games of the regular season from a similar incident in the preseason, and being suspended again December 17 for intigating a fight against Sarnia.

Flegal has a total of 5 regular season fights this season and leads the Chatham Maroons in penalty minutes with 99.

The 20 year old has 9 goals and 21 assists for the Maroons this season. He was named an alternate for the GOJHL All-Star game and was the GOJHL’s Defenseman of the Month in October.
