Max Allin Named OUA Athlete of the Week
Allin set a new Wilfrid Laurier single game scoring record in a 94-88 loss to the Guelph Gryphons Saturday lighting up the court with 43-points and now leads all CIS basketball players in points per game. Allin was also named the Wilfrid Laurier Athlete of the Week following his performance.
Allin, a senior, majoring in art, went 6-for-10 from behind the three point arch and was 11-for-12 from the free throw line in the effort. Earlier in the week, Allin, who is now averaging 26.3 points per game this season, scored 28 points, and added 10 assists, and 7 rebounds in a 112-92 upset over Number 8 ranked Windsor. His 26.3 points per game average is tops in the CIS.
This is the second time in Allin’s OUA basketball career he has been named the OUA Athlete of the Week, after receiving the honour the week of February 28, 2011. Is is also the 11th time Allin, a two time OUA Second Team All-Star, has been named the Wilfrid Laurier male Athlete of the Week.
