Four Gold For Chatham Skaters

The Chatham Skating Club sent 5 skaters to the Dennis Silverthorne Memorial Invitational Skating Competition this past weekend, Feb. 1-3 in Dorchester.

While 4 more skaters travelled to the US as they competed in the Edith Scheonrock International Skating Competition in Port Huron.

In Dorchester, Ashley Glassco competed in the Novice Women Level. She took home the Gold Medal in the Long Freeskate Program earning her season’s best score of 49.84. She placed 7th in the Short Program.

During the Pre-Novice Women event, Olivia Stallaert was on the podium twice as she also skated away with the Gold Medal in the Long Freeskate and also took home the Silver Medal in the Short Program.

Paige Newman competed in the StarSkate Gold Triathlon event. She was 1st in the Freeskate Program, 4th in the Creative Skills, 6th in the Interpretive event. From this, she made it to the podium with the overall Bronze Medal.

At the WO Development Level 1 Men event, Joshua Andari skated away with the Gold Medal.

While at the WO Development Level 2 Ladies event, Brooke MacLeod narrowly missed a medal when she placed 4th.

In Port Huron, Sydney Hart stood center podium with the Gold Medal in Preliminary Test Track.

Daisy Lacina was also a medal recipient as she brought back the Bronze Medal in PrePreliminary Test Track. Claudia Jeromel placed 7th in this event.

Megan Desmarais received 6th place in Beginner Compulsory Moves.
