Laurier, York, Guelph Ousted From OUA Playoffs
Chatham’s Max Allin saw his season come to an end as the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks men’s basketball team was ousted from the OUA playoffs by the Brock Badgers 81-75.
Allin, who was named the Laurier Athlete of the Week five times this season, and the OUA and CIS player of the week once, again led his team in scoring collecting 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Allin also finished as the OUA and CIS’ leading scorer this season.
The York Lions, who feature Shauney Fischer and Erin Sarapnickas of Wallaceburg saw their OUA season end Wednesday as well, losing the quarter-finals to the Toronto Varsity Blues 88-52.
Fishcer had 9 points and 6 rebounds in the loss, while Sarapnickas chipped in 6 points.
Finally, Chatham native Erica McFadden also had her OUA playoffs end Wednesday as her Guelph Gryphons fell to the McMaster Marauders 81-51. McFadden had 7 points and 5 rebounds for Guelph.
