Richardson Leads Maroons to Game One Win

Trevor Richardson scored twice for the Chatham Maroons as they doubled up the Lambton Shores Predators 6-3 in game one of their first round GOJHL Western Conference playoff series.

Only 15 seconds after the opening puck drop, Richardson buried his first of the game, with assists going to Michael Verboom and Brayden Hopkins. Before the period came to a close, Brennan Feasey and Blake Blondeel both scored for Chatham, chasing Lambton Shores starter Brandon Campbell from the net.

Matt Ross got Lambton Shores on the board before the first period was out, and following the intermission, the visiting team appeared to show new life in the second period.

Cale Duberry scored to open the second period, cutting Chatham’s lead to 3-2. Brayden Hopkins would answer back for Chatham, before league MVP Adam Arseneault scored again for the Predators.

In the third period, Branden Morris scored an insurance marker for Chatham. Richardson would then cap off the scoring, potting his second of the game. Hopkins and Verboom both assisted on Richardson’s final goal, giving both forwards three point games.
